Foxes’ 🦊 – Geography

This week in Geography, the children explored different types of soil through a hands-on investigation.

Working in groups, they rotated around soil stations and examined sandy soil, clay soil, chalk soil, chalk loam, and clay loam. They recorded observations about each soil’s texture, how well it absorbed water, and any other features they noticed.

The children then discussed which soil would be most suitable for arable farming in the UK, linking their findings to real-life farming. The lesson developed their observation skills and helped them understand how geography affects land use.
