Owls’ Great Poo Investigation 🦴🔍

This week, Year 1 became animal detectives as we investigated the diets of herbivores, carnivores and omnivores by exploring some very realistic (but thankfully fake!) animal poo! Made from flour, salt and cocoa powder, our ‘poo’ was filled with clues such as grass, peas, sweetcorn and even ‘bones’ (dog treats). The children carefully examined what they found to work out what each animal had been eating and whether it was a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. It was messy, exciting and a fantastic way to bring our science learning to life!
