Victorian Day in Owls 🦉

Year 1 stepped back in time as we enjoyed a fantastic Victorian Day! Dressed as Victorian children, we experienced what school life might have been like over 100 years ago.
The children spent the day without screens and took part in a range of traditional Victorian activities. In Maths, they practised their learning using chalkboards, while in English they carefully wrote using ink pens and explored traditional Victorian handwriting styles.
During PE, the children enjoyed playing Victorian playground games, including Simon Says, Oranges and Lemons, and Duck, Duck, Goose. In the afternoon, the boys and girls were separated as they would have been in Victorian schools and took part in activities linked to the Victorian curriculum, creating traditional toys ☺️
