Foxes’ 🦊 – šŸ„• Design & Technology Day – Farmer’s Market Fun!

Year 5 had an exciting day exploring healthy, seasonal food. The classroom became a farmer’s market, and the children researched which vegetables grow at different times of the year, why eating seasonal food is good for us and the environment, and completed their own seasonality calendars.

Next, they became food designers! Using Canva, they created soup labels and logos, named their soups, listed ingredients, and calculated nutritional information. Before cooking, the children watched videos on preparation techniques and practiced peeling carrots and cutting them safely with plastic knives. Finally, they made their own delicious vegetable soup, describing the flavours and textures. Each child brought home a portion to enjoy!
