Our school uniform plays a valuable role in contributing to the ethos of our school.I would ask you to respect and support our policy and in doing so ensure that your child comes to school wearing the correct uniform.School uniform helps children identify with the school, is less costly than "ordinary" clothes and saves arguments about what should be worn for school.
In the summer months, girls can wear:
- Blue/white checked dresses, or
- Dark grey or black school skirt with a white, short sleeved plain school blouse or white polo shirt, or
- Normal school uniform, but no cropped trousers or culottes.
If boys want to wear shorts, please ensure that they are grey school shorts. Football shorts are not part of our school uniform.
We now stock some good quality white polo shirts with a contrasting Royal blue school logo. Prices range from £4.50 to £6.60, depending on size. Pupils may also wear a light blue polo shirt, if they wish.
P.E. kit is a white t-shirt or polo shirt with either navy blue or black shorts.
All footwear should be safe. Even small heels for children who have to negotiate steps and run around the playground or school field are inappropriate. A common sense approach is needed here.
Thank you for ensuring that children do not come to school with hair styles incorporating "grid lines". Hair should not be streaked or highlighted. Schools are a place for learning and not a place for fashion.
In conclusion, it is up to individual schools to decide whether to have a school uniform or not. Since our policy is to have a school uniform, our expectations are that all children who attend Sturry CE Primary fully adhere to the policy.
